Saratoga Frequently Asked Questions

Q1 - Are your technicians and engineers certified professionals?

A1 – Yes. But what’s even more important is that their certifications are current. Companies like Microsoft have issued certifications for years and as new products are released new certification tests are released as well. The problem is that if an engineer has a MCSE certification in NT4 it is of little use when you need Server 2003 installed. So make sure your service provider has up to date training and certifications.

Q2 – Is the technician/engineer actually providing the service to me certified or are they using another person’s certification?

A2 – Unfortunately, it is a common practice in our industry to have one certified person on staff and claim that all technicians/engineers are trained, certified professionals. You wouldn’t want to be on the operating table with a surgeon who has to get on the phone and ask how to perform the surgery would you? We don’t think so either. All of our technicians and engineers are trained and certified in the work they perform. You will never be billed for an MCSE engineer when in reality they were just a PC technician.

Q3 – Are you just a computer reseller?

A3 – No. Although we do resell equipment, that is not our focus. Our company is all about solutions. Our goal is not to sell you “stuff” but to actually enable your company to benefit from technology. We specialize in the IT and communications industry and provide products, services and solutions to overcome business problems. If you are in need of a technology partner that can assist your organization in solving a business or technology problem give us a call.

Q4 - What is the difference between a name brand computer and a “white box” computer and which one do you sell?

A4 - A white box PC is a computer that is built so that anyone can resell them with their own personal brand name on it. Some are built in basements while others are built in first rate, controlled factory environments. We offer both name brand computers as well as top notch white box computers. Talk with one of our representatives today to decide which one is right for you.
